An overview of the process of an exciting industry you know as t-shirt printing
Ever wonder how a specific
t-shirt printing method is executed or the reasons behind choosing a certain
printing method for specific designs? Here is a glimpse of some of the most
common apparel decoration techniques:
Screen Print with Under Base
Screen printing
Toronto is the go-to print method due to many reasons. It is
cost-effective and in most cases, will last the life of the apparel product. It
has the most advantage when you print a simple, single spot color design on a
large number of t-shirts. Screen printing suits almost all types of apparel
materials including cotton and poly blends. The color is more dynamic than
other print methods but it can feel heavy on the material. Adding a white under
the base to the design gradually increases the layers of ink but helps a lot to
maintain the brightness of the colors.
Simulated Process
This is a printing process widely
used for complex designs that are not able to be reproduced using traditional
spot color applications of ink. Generally halftones or any other type of tonal
design, for example, photography-like images can be fabricated using simulated
process printing.
Four Color Process
This is the oldest form of
apparel decoration using the look-alike method as an inkjet printer by blending
the four process colors of Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, and Black to create the full
spectrum of all the colors. Four color process printing suits best with white
or light-colored garments.
Digital Printing
Digital printing has brought a
revolution in the apparel printing industry by making it cost-effective to
print a single custom t-shirts
Toronto or other garments for any customer according to their need. Rather
than applying ink through the use of screens on a press, in this method, the
image is transported exactly as we use to do with a home printer. In this
methodology, we inject ink directly into the fabric in spite of being cured
with a heat press. It is also a very cost-effective choice when looking for
full-color photography reproduction on garments.
Screen De-hazing
De-hazing screens are abolishing
the stain or "Ghost Image" in the mesh of the screen that can be left
after printing. The haze or ghost stain left in the mesh of the screen from the
preceding print job can create a complex situation most of the time when
registering your screens on press for the next job. The entire process to
de-haze (to prevent from ghost stain) your screen is too straight-forward and
easy. You can begin with apply water to the screen and wet the screen in the
washout booth. Next, begin to mist the old ghost stain in the mesh by using a
spray bottle, or whatever the de-hazer you are using calls for. Once you are
done with meshing, start scrubbing the stain in the mesh by using a scrub pad.
Once you have finished scrubbing the de-hazing chemical into the mesh, rinse
the de-hazer properly and mesh off.
